Today, 11 July 2008, Arsenal have announced the worst kept secret in football, Samir Nasri joins the club from Marseilles. Arsenal, in line with tradition, have not disclosed the fee, which is rumoured to be in the region of £12M.
Nasri is 21and is a full France international, he also made two appearances for France in Euro 2008..
Samir Nasri, can operate on the left of midfield, or through the middle, he will wear the number 8 shirt, and Arsenal fans will be hoping he will be a big success like his two predecessors, Freddie Ljungberg and Ian Wright.
Manager Arsène Wenger said: "We are delighted to be signing Samir Nasri. He is young, quick and technically an outstanding player.”
Nasri added: "I'm very happy to become an Arsenal player, it means such a lot to me. This is a very important step in my life as a football player because Arsenal is a massive club."
